Description

The Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Expander extends the radio communication range of Wi-Fyre Xenos intelligent translators, enabling large, fully wireless fire detection systems. It relays data to other expanders or directly to wireless field devices, ideal for integrating components where cabling is challenging. Each expander supports bi-directional communication for up to 32 wireless field devices across 8 network channels. A critical redundant path to the translator enhances reliability, providing an alternative transmission route if an expander fails; paths are verified during commissioning. Expanders are monitored for life safety but require an external power supply.

The system is highly scalable, accommodating up to 15 expanders (8 in a linear path) and 128 wireless devices. Its point-to-point transmission range exceeds 1km in open air; with up to 8 expansion hops, total system coverage can extend beyond 8km. Translators are approved to BS EN54-17, EN54-18, and EN54-25 standards. The expander features an IP65 rating and operates from -10°C to +55°C.
