Introducing Solo A10S, the latest HFC-free and Non-Flammable smoke aerosol specially designed for testing smoke detectors in buildings. This innovative product ensures safe and efficient functional testing.
Contained in a 250ml bottle, Solo A10S is meant to be dispensed using the Solo 330 and Solo 332 aerosol dispensers. These dispensers create a tight seal around the smoke detector, resulting in minimal usage of the test gas from Solo A10S. The test gas effectively simulates smoke particles in a safe and environmentally friendly manner during the testing process. It is compatible with major detector brands, making it a versatile choice.
Solo A5 and Solo A10/A10S were developed to replace Solo A3, which contained a gas known to be harmful to the environment. Consequently, Detector Testers decided to discontinue the Solo A3 range entirely from the 31st of December 2017.

What is the test capacity of the 250ml Solo A10S?
Generally the Solo A10S should allow you to test an estimated 300 detectors, however this can be highly impacted by the following reasons:
- Ambient temperature. Determines the amount of gas required per test
- Consumer habits. Each user consume a different amount of aerosol per test
- Tested equipment. The poor integrity of each tested system can cause delays in alarm acknowledgement consequently forcing a user to consume more test gas.
What is the shelf life of Solo A10S aerosols?
Typically, the shelf life of Solo A10S extends beyond the 12-month warranty period, but this duration can be significantly influenced by storage conditions. To ensure optimal longevity, it is crucial to store Solo A10S aerosols in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
Can Solo A10S aerosols be used by hand?
It is recommended not to use the Solo range of aerosols manually, as they are specifically intended to be used in conjunction with a Solo 330 or 332 smoke dispenser. Utilising these products together maximizes the number of tests achievable from each aerosol can and ensures that the detector remains uncontaminated. The test gas is discharged into a seal around the smoke detector rather than directly into the optical chamber, preventing any potential contamination.
