Knowledge BaseDescription
The Crisis EVC Network Master Station serves as a central component within the Crisis Network Emergency Voice Communications System (EVCS), designed and manufactured in the UK. Fully compliant with BS5839 Part 9:2021, it provides a comprehensive solution for fire telephone systems, disabled refuge call systems, or combined communication systems requiring both functionalities.
Operating as the site-wide network master station, it includes an integrated assist call function and is expandable from 2 to 8 lines initially. The system can function standalone or be networked to monitor up to 512 lines through the addition of expanders or additional master stations. Configuration is managed via a touchscreen display, which clearly shows current calls, alarms, and faults. Users can call individual outstations from a directory or by extension, and also transfer control between Crisis Master Stations.
The system employs a ring and spur topology for wiring, with outstations connecting radially from master stations or expander panels. Network expanders and master stations can themselves form a ring network, supporting up to 64 panels. This master station is compatible with a range of outstation types, including Type A fixed phones, Type B refuge hands-free points, emergency assist call points, and international jack points.
Technical features include a 230V AC input and internal DC supplies, powered by a 12V 7AH VRSLA battery. It monitors 2-8 lines and provides fault and ‘in use’ relay outputs. The unit incorporates a 4.7” RGB touchscreen, navigation buttons, and status indicators, all housed in a 350 x 300 x 95mm enclosure, weighing 4.5kg.
