Overview
Emergency assistance alarm systems provide those at need with the ability to summon help in the event of a personal emergency. Typically seen in locations such as public washrooms, they are designed for ease-of-use by disabled or mobility-impaired people and, upon activation, trigger an alarm where it will be promptly seen and attended to, for example, at a building’s reception desk.
The Crisis Assist Call Pull Cord Plate is used to activate such an alarm; the pull cord plate should be mounted with the lowest ring pull 100mm from the floor, a height easily reachable by anyone who has had a fall. The plate is built in a single gang plate in either brushed stainless steel or light grey acrylic, with an LED indicator for visual alarm.
The pull cord plate also comes with the option of anti-ligature antimicrobial cord for use in locations where there is a danger that people may cause accidental or intentional harm to themselves. Holes at regular intervals in the cord are designed to break apart at specific weak zones under heavy strain.
All Crisis Emergency Voice Communication Systems (EVCS) are designed to comply fully with the requirements of BS5839-9:2011 for use as a disabled refuge system (DRS) with integrated Emergency Assist Alarm System.
Typical Wiring Diagram
The Crisis Assist Pull Cord Plate can be integrated into either a Crisis EVC system or standalone via a Crisis Assist Controller. For simplicity all wiring is a standard two core cable, up to 6 pull cords can be connected on a single line, the wiring order of the plates is not fixed and therefore can be wired in any order to give total flexibility in the installation routes. Each plate has two sets of two-part terminals allowing simple cable connections and also a complete first fix solution.
