After releasing some new products this year, Eurofyre thought it would only be right to bring back our product of the month. This month we have selected the VESDA-E VEA Addressable Smoke Detector from Xtralis. The VESDA-E VEA combines pinpoint addressability with VESDA early warning smoke detection and a variety of annunciation options that exceed traditional spot detectors.
How It Works
VESDA-E VEA detectors draw a mixture of air from a network of sampling pipes into its detection chamber, once smoke particles have been detected and the smoke reaches the set alarm threshold, the system will trigger its alarm. The system then uses a rotary valve to individually test each sampling point to sequentially scan the sampling locations to identify the specific area where smoke is present. At any point, including if the system is in pre-alarm, the user will be able to easily detect which area is affected by manually initiating a smoke scan of all locations.

Ethernet and WiFi connectivity are typical features of VESDA detectors, this means detectors can be added to a corporate network and are able to connect wirelessly to WiFi enabled devices with Xtralis configuration software installed. - iVESDA
As well as being able to connect to the internet, the VESDA-E VEA also gives users the option to download the iVESDA mobile app to monitor their device from any location for a efficient and effective response. - VESDAnetTM
VEA devices and detectors communicate on VESDAnet which offers a robust communication network for centralised control, configuration, maintenance and monitoring and primary reporting.

The VESDA-E VEA Addressable Smoke Detector is also certified under the ULC safety scheme which demonstrates the system is an effective and reliable fire safety system.
