Description

The Xtratone Conventional Sounder and Visual Alarm Device (VAD) is a high-output fire alarm component designed for conventional fire detection systems. It features an “electronics-free” first fix technology, simplifying installation by allowing wiring directly to the back box.

Housed in a UL V0 flame-retardant ABS enclosure, the device is both small and durable, available in red or white to suit different aesthetic requirements. It can be conveniently surface or flush mounted, offering flexibility in installation.

The sounder component boasts a powerful 102dB output at 1 metre and offers 22 selectable tones, ensuring effective audible warning. Complementing this, the integrated VAD provides a visual alert with a coverage pattern ranging from W 3.0 to 8.9, emitting a white flash at 0.5Hz.

This device complies with essential European standards, specifically EN54 part 3 Type A for sounders and EN54 part 23 for visual alarm devices. It operates within a voltage range of 17-30V DC, with a maximum current draw of 70mA at 24V DC, and maintains functionality across an operating temperature range of -10°C to 55°C.
