Description

The VESDA Handheld Programmer provides direct access to all VESDAnet devices within a smoke detection system, proving crucial for its installation, commissioning, and maintenance. It facilitates comprehensive configuration and status reporting for detectors, displays, and interfaces. Designed for user convenience, its menu system is navigated via large push buttons and “Soft Keys”, allowing access to various functions. These include device status, zone allocation, alarm threshold setting, AutoLearn initiation, relay testing, and event log review. It also supports multiple languages, alarm/fault simulation, and filter reset.

Access to the VESDAnet system is managed through three password-protected levels for up to 14 assigned users or administrators, plus one distributor, each with a unique 4-digit PIN. The User level allows parameter viewing and status/alarm checking. The Administrator level permits access to most commands and programming, while the Distributor level has unlimited access. Lost PINs are recoverable via a VESDA dealer. For security, the programmer automatically logs off after 10 minutes of inactivity, with a prior beeping prompt.

Technically, the unit consumes 1.68W at 24Vdc, connecting via a 15-pin D-type connector using a VESDAnet cable. Eurofyre, an authorised distributor of Honeywell and Xtralis products, supplies the programmer (Part Number VHH-100) and provides expert advice, pipework calculations, training, and after-sales support for VESDA systems.
