Description

The Blazer is an automatic maintenance system designed for aspirating smoke detection (ASD) networks. Installed directly above the detector, it effectively cleans the pipe system by injecting pressurised air to dislodge and remove accumulated dirt. This is particularly beneficial in environments with high dust levels, such as those handling cocoa, straw, or animal foodstuffs, which can cause frequent blockages.

The system operates by briefly blowing pulsating pressurised air into the pipes, which ensures even stubborn dirt is stripped away from the inner network. A key advantage is its programmability, allowing cleaning cycles to be scheduled daily, weekly, or at specific intervals, including during non-operational shifts. Crucially, the ASD system remains fully functional throughout the cleaning process without requiring any manual intervention.

The Blazer’s primary aim is to secure the proper performance and extend the lifespan of the aspiration system. By preventing blockages and pollution, it significantly reduces the risk of false alarms from the detector and decreases the frequency of filter replacements. This leads to enhanced operational reliability, increased system uptime, and a reduction in overall maintenance costs and call-outs caused by flow faults.

For optimal performance, The Blazer requires a minimum air pressure of 4 atmospheres, utilising high-quality valves and A-brand components in its construction to manage these demands. Once operational, it systematically cleans each connected aspiration pipe, cycling through up to four channels in accordance with adjustable timing for each cleaning cycle.
