The InfraSensing VOC Off-Gas Sensor, offered by Eurofyre, is designed for real-time environmental monitoring, focusing on Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), temperature, and humidity. Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS) ensure optimal conditions and regulatory compliance, and the sensor is particularly useful in preventing thermal runaway in lithium-ion batteries by detecting VOCs emitted by stressed or damaged cells. This sensor is designed for indoor use and boasts a lifespan of over 10 years under normal conditions. For comprehensive monitoring, it is recommended to install one sensor per battery rack. The sensor measures VOCs within a range of 0-500 VOC Index, and temperature from -40°C to 125°C. It also measures relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH.
Technically, the sensor requires a Base Unit (BASE-XX) and the BASE-FW-SSLS firmware add-on for operation. It connects via RJ45 cable, which transmits both data and power, with CAT 6/7 cables recommended for distances up to 100m. The sensor’s power usage is 120 mW, and it operates in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C.
The sensor comes in a steel enclosure and can be mounted in multiple ways.
