FyreLine Linear Heat Detection
Linear heat detection is an accurate, fast and reliable method of detecting fires or overheating events. A linear heat detection system uses heat sensing cable to detect changes in temperature. Heat sensing cable can detect hot spots at any point along its length and, once it’s rated or preset temperature is reached, signal the fire alarm control panel to take action.
Fyreline linear heat detection is extremely cost effective and can easily be installed alongside, or in place of, conventional heat detectors.
It is well suited to a vast range of applications and is available with different outer coatings to provide protection against UV, hazardous chemicals and mechanical abrasion. Typical applications include:
FyreLine linear heat detection systems are fully approved by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and bear the CE mark to show that they comply with European health, safety, and environmental protection standards.

Summary of the LHD range we offer:
FyreLine EN54 Fixed Linear Heat Detection
When the FyreLine EN54 Fixed Controller, FyreLine EN54 Fixed EOL and FyreLine EN54 Fixed LSZH LHD Cable is used as a complete system, it provides a fixed heat detection solution that is approved to BS EN54-28:2016; the European Standard for non-resettable line-type heat detectors.
FyreLine EN54 Fixed Heat Sensing Cable is made up of two, tri-metallic cores that are each wrapped in a heat sensitive polymer and twisted together before being encased in an outer sheath. Once the heat sensitive coating reaches it’s rated temperature, it melts, allowing the two cores to come in contact with each other. The resulting short triggers a signal to the control panel.
It supports up to two zones of up to 1000m or can be used in interlock mode where coincidence detection is required. Once the cable reaches its rated temperature, the system’s control panel calculates the distance along the cable to the alarm location and sends a signal to the fire alarm control panel, enabling the end user to investigate the threat and take the necessary action.
FyreLine EN54 Fixed Heat Sensing Cable is available with a temperature rating of 78°C or 88°C.
Please note: to comply with EN54-28, the FyreLine EN54 Fixed Controller, FyreLine FyreLine EN54 Fixed EOL and FyreLine EN54 Fixed LSZH LHD Cable must be used as a complete system.
FyreLine Digital Linear Heat Detection
FyreLine Digital also offers fixed temperature heat detection and is available with temperature ratings of 68°C, 88°C, 105°C or 185°C.
Like FyreLine EN54 Fixed Linear Heat Sensing Cable, FyreLine Digital Heat Sensing Cable is also made of two, tri-metallic cores wrapped in a heat sensitive polymer, twisted and tensioned and wrapped in an outer sheath. Once the heat sensitive coating reaches its rated temperature, it melts, allowing the two cores to come in contact with each other. The resulting short triggers a signal to the control panel.
For enhanced performance, an option FyreLine Digital controller is available which can automatically display the distance along the cable to the overheat event; while this is mandatory for FyreLine EN54 Fixed Linear Heat Detection, it is an optional extra for FyreLine Digital.
FyreLine Analogue Linear Heat Detection
FyreLine Analogue Heat Sensing Cable is constructed from a pair of copper conductors that are coated in a heat sensitive polymer. As the temperature changes, so does the resistance of the cables. This means that the FyreLine Analogue is able to continuously monitor for changes in temperature. Both pre-alarm and alarm temperatures can be defined at the control panel and when an alarm is triggered, the controller can simply be reset. When an alarm is triggered, the FyreLine Analogue Controller automatically displays the distance along the cable to the overheat event.
