Linear Heat Detection for Switchgear

Switchgear is a generic term that covers the combination of electrical disconnect switches, fuses or circuit breakers used in electric power systems to control, protect and isolate electrical equipment. Switchgear is generally used to de-energise equipment to allow work to be carried out and to isolate the supply in the event of a fault, but the term switchgear can also cover devices associated with the control, metering and regulating of an electrical power system.

Linear Heat Detection for Transformers

A transformer is a component that reduces or increases the voltage of an alternating current. While they are very widely used in a wide range of environments such as offices, homes and factories, large scale transformers are also used in power stations to aid production and distribution of high voltage electricity by reducing energy losses during transmission.

Linear Heat Detection for Low Temperature Environments

Low temperature environments are areas that contain a low ambient temperature such as frozen food processing plants, cryogenic gas processing plants, cold storage freezer warehouses or external areas in extremely cold climates. When implementing a fire detection system in a low temperature environment, installation is similar to normal, however, certain precautionary measures are needed to ensure trouble free installation and operation.

Linear Heat Detection for Commercial Shipping and Passenger Vessels

Commercial shipping and passenger vessels are used to transport either goods and materials or passengers across the sea. These ships are typically large in size, meaning the amount of passengers on board can be in the thousands and a significant weight of goods and materials can be in transport, therefore, if fire is to occur, the consequences could be disastrous.

Linear Heat Detection for Engine Bays

An engine bay is an area inside motorised vehicles such as cars, trains and aeroplanes where the engine is located.
