A hotel is a commercial establishment that provides accommodation, usually for a short-term stay. It typically offers amenities and services such as housekeeping, room service, concierge, and parking.
Hotels come in different shapes, sizes and styles, ranging from budget to luxury, and may have different types of rooms such as standard, deluxe or suites. Some hotels are part of larger chains, while others are independent or boutique-style hotels.
The hospitality industry has significantly evolved over time, with many hotels now offering more than just accommodation, such as meeting facilities, restaurants, spas and other wellness offerings.
Fire alarm systems are essential in hotels for the safety of the guests, staff and the property itself.
Wireless Fire Detection
Wireless fire detection systems offer a mostly wire-free solution for detecting fires. This reduces the amount of wiring needed to install a reliable fire alarm system, making installation discreet and quick while causing minimal disruption to the property or business. The latest wireless technology enables integration of wireless fire detection with new or existing hardwired fire detection systems, creating a hybrid solution that is cost-efficient.
Expansion and upgrades to wireless or hybrid detection systems using wireless devices are simple and a wireless fire detection system is easy to maintain. This makes wireless fire detection systems an excellent choice for hotels looking for an uncomplicated and easy-to-install fire detection solution.
Wi-Fyre Xenos
Wi-Fyre Xenos is designed to provide enhanced fire detection and warning in various buildings and facilities including hotels, office buildings, hospitals, schools and others.
Wi-Fyre Xenos fire detection systems can be deployed very quickly. The wireless infrastructure required for the system to operate efficiently can also be predetermined by conducting a Xenos system survey, making installation even quicker. The entire Wi-Fyre Xenos system can be programmed, configured and tested, before arriving on site, to reduce installation time and allow precise planning, exact equipment requirements and accurate costs to be calculated.
Wi-Fyre Xenos is EN54-approved and ensures quick and efficient detection of fires. In the event of an emergency, hotel guests and staff can be swiftly alerted using audio and visual alerts.
Wireless Architecture
The Wi-Fyre Xenos system comprises at least one Xenos Translator Module. Each module can manage up to 128 Xenos wireless devices. The module creates a unique wireless infrastructure and handles communication protocols with the fire alarm control panel. To extend the network range and improve its stability, Xenos Expander Modules can be used, allowing for an additional 1km range per module.
Handpicked Products for Leisure & Hospitality
Xenos wireless fire alarm systems are well-suited for hotels due to their flexibility and ease of installation. Since they operate wirelessly, they do not require invasive or time-consuming installation, which can be disruptive to hotel guests. Additionally, the Xenos system can be easily expanded as the hotel grows or its needs change. The system’s intelligent wireless communication protocol enables fast and reliable communication between devices, ensuring that all areas of the hotel are fully protected. Xenos’ modular design also allows for easy maintenance and upgrades, minimising downtime and disruption to the hotel’s operations.
A Wi-Fyre Xenos system will typically consist of:
Addressable Fire Alarm Panel
These panels are expandable from 1 to 2 loops and are supplied with 2 onboard sounder circuits, 20 programmable zonal LEDs with slide-in labels and 25 system LEDs for information purposes. Each loop can power up to 6 Wi-Fyre Xenos Translators.
The Advanced MxPro 5 1-4 Loop Addressable Fire Alarm Panel is fully expandable from one to four loops and has four onboard sounder circuits, 20 programmable zonal LEDs and 25 system LEDs for information purposes.
Wireless Translators & Expanders
The Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Translator module is the main component of a Wi-Fyre Xenos intelligent hybrid fire detection and alarm system. When connected to a compatible loop, the Xenos Translator Module can wirelessly link up to 128 wireless field devices to the fire alarm system.
Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Expanders provide a convenient method to increase the radio communication range by relaying the information to other expanders or directly to wireless field devices. This allows the user to create large fully-wireless configurations or to add wireless devices into areas where cabling for translators is not possible.
Elmdene STX power supplies are designed for EN 54 compliant fire systems and are certified to EN 54-4:1997, A1:2002 and A2:2006. They provide a full-rated current at 27.6V DC with additional current for battery charging and support intelligent battery charging and monitoring using Elmdene’s EcoCharge technology. These units also feature battery deep discharge protection in the event of a prolonged mains failure.
Wireless Devices
Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Optical Smoke Detectors use dual optical smoke detection technologies and algorithms for improved performance whilst maintaining the highest levels of false alarm rejection.
Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Heat Detectors are designed to give the best possible warning of fire in locations where smoke detection technology is not suitable. They can be configured for either high-temperature or rate-of-rise heat detection.
Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Sounder Bases can be used as a stand-alone notification device (with a blanking cap) or as a combined detection and alarm device when fitted with a Xenos detector. They have 32 recognised primary and secondary sounder tones and four levels of volume adjustment.
The Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Sounder VAD Base is a high-performance device that incorporates an EN54-23 compliant visual alarm device (VAD) to alert people in the event of a fire.
Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Manual Call Points have a resettable plastic element. Once the unit has been activated, it can simply be reset using the key provided. The unit includes a transparent cover that protects it from accidental activation and there is a weatherproof enclosure available for outdoor use.
The Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Input Module offers a single, fully-monitored input circuit to provide simple integration of third party equipment with the fire alarm system.
Wireless Site Survey
It is necessary to conduct a wireless survey before installation to make sure that the alarm system will operate efficiently and to speed up installation time.
A Wi-Fyre Xenos survey kit is available from Eurofyre to make conducting a site survey at your hotel quick and easy. The kit provides all the equipment that is needed to test channels and frequency bands that will be used. The option to hire a complete survey kit (UK only) makes the process even more cost-effective.
Wireless Remote Programming Support
Programming Xenos devices off-site reduces installation time and the number of engineers required for installation. This dramatically reduces the overall cost of installation.
Eurofyre has a unique understanding of the challenges of programming on-site; difficult access, multiple trades working in the same area, insufficient workspace and more. Therefore, we offer programming support to ensure you can make good use of the benefits off-site programming provides.
