Overview
The FyreLine Resettable Linear Heat Detection (LHD) system is a sophisticated fire protection solution designed to provide reliable overheat and fire detection across various applications. The system consists of a heat-sensitive cable, a controller and an end-of-line module.
FyreLine Resettable Linear Heat Detection continuously monitors temperature changes along the cable, using resistance variations to detect overheat conditions or potential fire hazards. When a significant change in resistance is identified, the system triggers either a pre-alarm or full alarm. The system’s adaptive threshold adjustment ensures accuracy by compensating for ambient temperature variations, reducing the likelihood of false alarms. Once an alarm has been triggered, the system can simply be reset.

Pre-Alarm
The FyreLine Resettable LHD system includes a pre-alarm feature that provides early warning of rising temperatures before reaching critical levels, allowing users to respond proactively to potential risks, thus reducing damage and downtime.
This feature detects temperature increases along the heat-sensitive cable and triggers a pre-alarm when the temperature reaches a predefined threshold, lower than the full alarm setting. The controller dynamically adjusts pre-alarm thresholds to account for ambient temperature changes, ensuring reliable operation.

Alarm
The FyreLine Resettable system triggers an alarm when the temperature along the heat-sensitive cable exceeds a preset threshold, indicating an overheat or fire condition. The controller continuously monitors the cable’s resistance, which decreases as the temperature rises. If the resistance drops below the alarm threshold, the system activates the alarm output, alerting users to the hazard. The alarm thresholds dynamically adjust to ambient temperature changes, ensuring accurate and reliable detection, even in fluctuating conditions.

Fyreline Resettable Controller
The FyreLine Resettable Controller is the central component of the LHD system, designed to monitor and manage the heat-sensitive cable. Its resettable design allows the system to be restored after an overheat or fire incident, provided the cable’s maximum recoverable temperature is not exceeded. The controller features a MODBUS RS-485 output, enabling seamless integration with external systems for enhanced monitoring and data retrieval, such as ambient temperature readings. This functionality, combined with its user-friendly interface and dynamic alarm threshold adjustment, ensures reliable and efficient operation across various applications.
LHD Cable
FyreLine offers flexibility with three cable types – PVC, Nylon, and Stainless Steel Braided – each suited to different environments and offering wide temperature operating ranges.

EOL Module
The FyreLine Resettable EOL Module is a robust termination device for FyreLine Resettable Linear Heat Detection systems. Built to endure challenging conditions, it operates reliably in temperatures from -40°C to +125°C and high-humidity environments. Its compact design, housed in an IP65-rated aluminium enclosure, provides excellent protection against environmental factors, ensuring durability and suitability across diverse applications.

The FyreLine Resettable LHD system is certified to meet the highest industry standards, including EN54-22 approval by VdS, ensuring its reliability and suitability for fire detection applications. EN54-22 certification verifies the system’s performance as a linear heat detector in automatic fire detection systems. Additionally, the system is UL 521 listed, meeting stringent safety requirements for fire protective signaling systems. Area Protection
For optimal installation, ensure correct spacing between sensor cable runs and proper support every 0.5m. Avoid excessive tension, sharp bends, or heat-conductive surfaces. Use silicone sleeves for mounting clips, follow ambient temperature limits, and maintain accessible sections for testing and maintenance.

Wiring
Addressable
The FyreLine Resettable Controller is integrated with an addressable fire alarm panel using a loop interface. This setup allows precise identification of alarm locations and system conditions. The controller connects seamlessly to the addressable panel, offering efficient monitoring, fault detection, and alarm communication, ensuring a reliable fire protection solution.
Conventional
A conventional wiring system connects the FyreLine Resettable Controller directly to a conventional fire alarm panel via a dedicated initiating zone. This straightforward setup ensures reliable detection and signalling of alarms or faults. It is an ideal solution for simpler fire protection applications where precise location identification is not required.
