Description

The ProFyre A4 addressable fire alarm panel, although now discontinued, was an open protocol, analogue addressable control unit offering full expandability from one to four loops. Each loop could accommodate up to 250 devices, including detectors, call points, sounders, and interfaces. The panel featured two on-board sounder circuits, fire and fault outputs, and twenty programmable zonal LEDs. Its high-resolution 4×40 character blue LCD display and tactile keypad made commissioning and maintenance intuitive, with flexible programming possible on-site or via dedicated software, making it suitable for medium to large multi-area systems.

Designed to integrate with a complete suite of ProFyre addressable field devices, the A4 facilitated clear alarm management. For larger installations, up to 64 control panels or repeaters could be networked peer-to-peer via RS485. This allowed each node standalone capability while enabling any panel to respond to events across the entire distributed system, potentially creating a 256-loop equivalent across a single site.

The panel also offered compatibility with Wi-Fyre, allowing a loop-powered transponder to seamlessly integrate wireless detectors, call points, sounders, or interfaces into the wired system, eliminating the need for separate power supplies. Fully approved by Intertek, the ProFyre A4 bore the CE mark and complied with EN54-2 and EN54-4 standards, ensuring its suitability for safe installation and use across Europe.
