The Crisis Assist Call Interface Plate, supplied by Eurofyre, is an essential component of Emergency Voice Communication Systems (EVCS), fully compliant with BS5839-9:2011. It integrates into disabled refuge systems (DRS) with Emergency Assist Alarm Systems, incorporating a BS8300 acknowledge feature for comprehensive accessibility.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, this interface plate connects third-party switches such as ‘corona press’ strips or door micro switches, offering latching or non-latching operation. Its flexible two-core cabling and two-part terminals allow wiring in any order, simplifying installation and supporting a complete first-fix solution.
The unit features a standard single-gang brushed stainless steel plate, including a blue ‘halo’ visual alarm indicator and an enhanced cancel button with Braille for improved accessibility. Suitable for flush or surface mounting, it also incorporates a high volume sounder for clear audible alerts in emergency scenarios.
Technically, the plate uses a single 2-core 1.0mm PVC or fire-rated cable, with a maximum 500-metre range when sharing a line with a Type B Refuge Outstation. Measuring 86mm x 86mm x 22mm and weighing 0.2kg, it adheres to EMC (EN55103-1:2009, EN55103-2:2009) and LVD (EN60950-1:2006) standards.
