Fyreline Analogue

For July’s product of the month we will be featuring our very own FyreLine Analogue Linear Heat Detection System. This system consists of a control module and detection cable, that is designed to interface with a standard fire alarm panel or addressable monitor module. This makes the FyreLine Analogue Linear Heat Detection System easy to install and cost effective.

Fyreline Analogue Controller

How it Works

FyreLine Analogue Heat Sensing cable is constructed from a pair of copper conductors that are coated in a heat sensitive polymer. The resistance of the heat sensitive polymers changes as the temperature rises, sending a signal to the control panel. The two conductors are twisted together with a calibration cable and an ambient temperature sensor in order to monitor for excess heat and wrapped in a inner sheath, foil shield, outer sheath and optional protective coating.

FyreLine Analogue Heat Detectors automatically compensate for changes in ambient temperature to maintain the accuracy of the alarm temperature and offer up to five hundred meters of continuous detection per control module.

A pre-alarm can be configured so that when excess heat around FyreLine Analogue Heat Sensing Cable reaches a predefined temperature an alarm is triggered, allowing the user time to investigate and take action, and a full alarm will only be triggered once the cable reaches a specified alarm point. FyreLine Analogue Linear Heat cable is self-restorable and therefore, once an alarm has been triggered it can simply be reset with little disruption. The cable only needs to be replaced if significant damage has occurred.

Installation

FyreLine Analogue Heat Detection System can be connected to a single zone of a conventional fire alarm control panel or easily interfaced to an addressable loop.

When using FyreLine Analogue Heat Sensing Cable with a conventional fire alarm control panel it should be connected via the initial device circuit.

When used in conjunction with an addressable panel it should be connected to the addressable loop using a switch or zone monitor.

If the area to be protected is away from the panel, leader cable may be used to bridge the gap between the panel and the control module.

Approvals

FyreLine analogue control modules and PVC coated linear heat detection cables are fully approved by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and bear the CE mark to show that they comply with all the applicable Directives including the EMC, CPR, and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

Typical Applications

FyreLine Analogue Linear Heat detection is well suited to a wide range of applications, including cable trays, conveyor belts, tunnels, car parks, escalators and many more.

To summarise FyreLine Analogue Linear Heat Detection is fast, reliable and cost-effective. It can easily be used in conjunction with existing conventional or addressable systems to provide both a pre-alarm and full warning of fire.
