Overview
The Esento Marine is a 2–4 zone conventional fire alarm control panel purpose-built for marine environments, combining EN54 approval with maritime-specific certifications (ABS, Lloyd’s Register type approval). It shares the same robust cabinet and power supply platform as the standard Eclipse range, adapted for shipboard use.
Available in 2-zone or 4-zone configurations, each fire alarm zone circuit is conventionally wired with a 4K7 Ohm EOL resistor, supporting up to 32 detectors per zone (line continuity diode bases fitted). Typically, 40-50 Apollo marine optical detectors can be accommodated per zone within the 3.5mA maximum detector load.
The panel is compatible with Apollo Orbis Marine detectors and includes earth fault monitoring — a feature not present on the standard Eclipse range, reflecting the additional protection needs of marine electrical systems. A programmable muster alarm feature (selectable per zone) supports crew assembly procedures, and a separate interface card is available to connect the panel to a ship’s voyage data recorder (VDR) system.
As standard, the panel provides two monitored sounder circuits, Fire & Fault VFCO relays, and switched inputs to ring and pulse the sounder circuits. Alarm load is 800mA shared across all sounder outputs.
The enclosure is a 1.2mm mild steel IP30 cabinet, with cable entry via 20mm knockouts at the top and rear.
Controls are activated via key switch or code entry, with disable and test modes (with or without sounders) for zones, sounder outputs, and auxiliary outputs. A false alarm management mode reduces nuisance alarms.
Like other panels in the Esento range, the Marine panel can be networked using the TPCA05 network card, supporting fault-tolerant or legacy wired network configurations with up to 7 slave panels and 8 repeaters.
