Description

The VESDA VLC Marine aspirating smoke detector, though now discontinued, was specifically designed to provide very early fire warnings in challenging marine environments. Eurofyre remains the point of contact for information, spare parts, servicing, and training related to this product.

This detector incorporates proven VESDA Laser detection technology, dual-stage air filtration, and a reliable aspirator within a compact IP30 enclosure, offering an optional IP66 enclosure for enhanced protection. Approved by Det Norske (DNV), it operates by continually drawing air from protected areas through a pipe network. This air is filtered before entering the detection chamber, where a laser light source and sensitive sensors detect smoke via light scatter.

Available in both relay-only and VESDAnet communication versions, the latter enables networked detectors and remote display modules for convenient status reporting. All events, including alarms and faults, are meticulously logged with precise time and date stamps and reported via relays or the VESDAnet network.

Further endorsing its robust design and reliability, the VESDA VLC Marine holds key certifications from Bureau Veritas for bridge and deck zones, Lloyd’s Register for various marine and industrial applications, and FM approval for hazardous locations. These approvals highlight its suitability for diverse demanding settings.
