Description

The ICAM IFT-15 Aspirating Smoke Detector, though now discontinued and replaced by VESDA-E VEA models, was a high-sensitivity air sampling system. Eurofyre, an authorised distributor, still provides spare parts, servicing, and training for the IFT-15.

This system was designed to simultaneously sample air from up to 15 individual, identifiable areas using unobtrusive, easy-to-install 6mm microbore flexible tubing. This facilitated installation in challenging or aesthetically sensitive locations. An enhanced vacuum pump allowed the detector to operate effectively in environments with high air-flows or differential pressures, while its wide dynamic range laser detector offered configurable sensitivity for diverse applications.

The IFT-15 provided flexible configuration options, including internal power, batteries, various interface cards/relays, and remote monitoring capabilities via RS485 or TCP/IP. Technical specifications included a nominal 24Vdc supply, dimensions of 490x355x200mm, and an operating ambient temperature range of 0 to 39°C. It supported 15 pipes, each up to 50m long, with an alarm sensitivity range of 0.001% to 20% obscuration/metre. The detector had an IP30 rating, four alarm relays, a fault relay, and communication via RS232, RS485 Modbus, and Ethernet TCP/IP. It held VdS approval, bore the CE mark, and complied with EN54-20:2006 standards.
