Overview
VESDA Sensepoint XCL is a gas detection solution that is designed to integrate with new or existing large bore aspirating smoke detection systems to deliver greater coverage, increased design flexibility and superior detection of a variety of harmful gases. VESDA Sensepoint XCL is installed in-line with the aspirating pipe network and is supplied with 60° elbows for easy installation. It is available with either 4-20mA analog or Modbus RTU output, both versions being equipped with relays. The result is a flexible solution that can be integrated to BMS, fire alarm panels, PLCs, HVAC, etc.
Combining gas and fire detection technologies provides fast and reliable protection of occupants from harmful gases while simultaneously protecting them from fire. VESDA Sensepoint XCL In-line gas detectors are capable of detecting a wide range of gases including:
- Flammable gases (% LEL)
- Oxygen (O2, % v/v)
- Carbon Monoxide (CO, ppm)
- Carbon Dioxide (CO2, % v/v, ppm)
- Hydrogen (H2, ppm)
- Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S, ppm)
- Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2, ppm)
- Ammonia (NH3, ppm)
These gas detectors can be commissioned and maintained using the Sensepoint App installed on a smart device and connected via Bluetooth. The Smartsense App provides quick access to diagnostic information and makes detector configuration, calibration and bump testing quick and easy.
Approvals
VESDA Sensepoint XCL has the following approvals:
- EN/UL/IEC 61010-1
- CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1-12
- EN 50270
- RED, FCC, BT SIG
- UL2075 (CO and CH4), AS 1668.2
How it Works
VESDA Sensepoint XCL – Large Bore is installed inline with new or existing aspirating pipe networks which then provides continuous delivery of air samples to the gas sensor for analysis.
VESDA Sensepoint XCL is capable of remote sampling which means the detector can be placed outside of the detection zone. This means that access for maintenance and servicing is convenient and is not limited by restricted access. Filters can be installed to ensure that the air entering the detection chamber is free from contaminants and ensure the detector remains reliable and provides long term, reliable performance in a wide range of environments.
