The X-Series Alarm Scan App gives users of any X-Series alarm that bears the Alarm Scan logo the ability to download data from the alarm to a smart device. This provides an on-the-spot investigation of any incidents and easy report generation.
The X-Series Alarm Scan App helps landlords or installers to demonstrate compliance, or offer an added value service to help develop their reputation.
Features and Benefits
The X-Series Alarm Scan App enables users to check the general status of any compatible device, as well as download logged alarm and fault events, wirelessly using any smart device.
Alarm Scan provides the possibility to see all previously completed services, as well as offering a full-service report functionality to save time with documentation of service inspections. Once reports are generated, they can easily be shared via email, OneDrive and more.
Alarm Scan allows the user to quickly select their service location either by using GPS, by manually entering the address or by selecting one of the remembered locations from previous services.
When installing new devices, the X-Series Alarm Scan App also allows the user to manually input device information and comments, and provides insights and recommendations regarding the status of the alarm.
How Alarm Scan Works
Alarm Scan collects information from X-Series devices via a silent audio signal. Once the silent transmission has been initiated, by pressing the device button three times, the Alarm Scan app uses the microphone on your smart device to receive the signal.
Once the transmission is complete, a device report will be generated where you can then decide to transfer data from other devices in the premises, before combining all the device reports into one ‘Service Report’. The report can then easily be shared via email, or on cloud storage platforms such as OneDrive.
Alarm Scan is available to download for Apple or Android devices and can be found in the Apple App store or Google Play.

The Alarm Scan app is compatible with any standard X-Series alarm that is marked with the alarm scan logo, including optionally installed wireless modules.
The App is expected to be made available during 2018.
