Overview
Wi-Fyre, the product of choice for ‘flexible’ wireless fire detection integration and control.
Until recently, wireless technology has only been available as a full, system-based solution, making it difficult or impossible to specify or combine the true strengths and economies of the two available technologies, hard-wired and wireless.
Wireless fire detection and fire alarm systems have proven to be an important, flexible solution for many owners, architects, specifiers, installers and fire professionals for well over 2 decades, with each decision to choose wireless in place of traditional hard-wired technology being made for specific reasons – accessibility, speed of installation, to minimise building disruption and to counter architectural issues.
Wi-Fyre, a new development from Eurofyre Limited, has been designed to eliminate this barrier, whilst building on traditional key- strengths to make wireless device integration and control more flexible than ever before – allowing hardwired and wireless detection technologies to co-exist seamlessly in appropriate proportions, irrespective of the type, age or technology of the existing ‘host’ hard-wired system.
This approach leaves the system designer free to use wireless devices where and when necessary, in order to provide complete protection in the most professional, convenient and cost effective way possible. Naturally, it also allows smaller, simple ad-hoc system add-ons to existing systems to be completed without detailed planning or building disruption, and in the minimum of time and fuss.
Wi-Fyre requires no special tools, programs or PC connections to program or commission as it has its own built-in user interface which, together with a spare wireless detector base or survey-head, can be used to conduct and complete a pre-requisite wireless site-survey.
Universal Compatibility
Whether you are planning a new installation or have an existing fire detection and alarm system to extend, Wi-Fyre may be the perfect solution, particularly if access and time is a key limiting factor.
You can benefit by choosing to use Wi-Fyre in many ways. The following modes are user selectable and are all available on a single, standard product platform. We have thought carefully about system integration and there are 6 individual modes of operation to choose from:
-
Conventional Mode
Connected to form all or part of an exsiting Conventional zone and/or sounder circuit.

ProFyre 2-Wire Addressable Mode
Connected to a ProFyre 2-Wire addressable fire detection radial/loop in an individual (seamless) response mode.
Addressable (Collective) Mode
Connected to an Analogue Addressable fire detection and alarm system, providing a collective response from input and output field devices.

Engineer Friendly
Our goal from the beginning was to create a user friendly experience for both the engineer and end-user. Simple configuration and maintenance through a highly intuitive menu structure allows Wi-Fyre to perform tasks such as adding, removing or viewing the status of a wireless device in a minimal amount of button presses.
Integral Survey Mode
Our goal from the beginning was to create a user friendly experience for both the engineer and end-user. Simple configuration and maintenance through a highly intuitive menu structure allows Wi-Fyre to perform tasks such as adding, removing or viewing the status of a wireless device in a minimal amount of button presses.
A Wi-Fyre survey is carried out using a standard LCD Transponder together with a purpose designed Wireless Survey-head. For consistency, the test-head has an identical performance to that of a standard wireless detector base and is fitted with an 8-way colour coded rotary LED array to indicate the signal strength received at the Transponder from its current ocation. Why not give our demonstration below a try?
Whether you are the installer or specifier, a site survey is essential prior to installation. This will not only speed up the time taken to complete installation and commissioning, but will ensure that a reliable, trouble-free system is in place afterwards without any surprises.
The Design
Because wireless technology requires batteries, it makes it much harder to design a product that will not only look good, but is also small enough in size to be aesthetically pleasing. The looks of the Wi-Fyre products complement our hard-wired ProFyre range of fire detection equipment. From the smoke detector head to the wall mounted horn sounder, we believe the looks compliment any building or environment.
Typical Applications
Existing Installations
Wireless fire detection is the perfect choice for additional protection to existing installations. It can reduce the installation time and also prevent massive disruption to people and building fabric. Each transponder can communicate with up to 30 individual field devices, which means you can easily and cost-effectively add only a few additional wireless devices, or up to 30 at a time.
New Installation – Hybrid Systems
A hybrid system allows you to mix both wireless and hard-wired devices together within the installation. Using the ProFyre addressable system combined with Wi-Fyre gives you total flexibility.
Outbuildings
Connected to an Analogue Addressable fire detection and alarm system, providing a collective response from input and output field devices.
Historic Buildings
Historic buildings, buildings with high and ornate ceilings, such as churches, and listed properties normally prohibit cabling throughout. Therefore wireless connectivity becomes an obvious choice.
Temporary Systems and Premises
The name says it all. Why install a hard-wired system into premises that may not need a permanent solution? Wi-Fyre can be quickly deployed and then be easily re-located to another temporary environment as many times as you want and, with the easy to use menu structure, commissioning is simple!
