The VESDA-E VEP series of aspirating smoke detection from Xtralis uses advanced Flair detection technology to provide a very early warning of fire while minimising nuisance alarms. The VEP range offers absolute calibration and multi-stage filtration and optical protection with clean air barriers to provide continual detection performance. A smart onboard filter retains dust count and remaining filter life to allow maintenance to be scheduled in advance.
VESDA-E VEP detectors offer four alarm levels, a wide sensitivity range and use flow fault thresholds for each port to support changeable airflow conditions, making this range of detectors suitable for a host of applications.
An intuitive LCD display provides instant status information to allow for immediate response to an alarm, and an event log of up to 20,000 events provides users with the necessary information for analysis and system diagnostics.
The VESDA VEP range is also fully compatible with existing VESDA installations and Xtralis offer a VESDA Detector Replacement Program to help bring your existing detectors up-to-date.

Flair Detection Technology
At the core of VESDA VEP is Flair, a revolutionary detection chamber designed to provide improved detection capabilities, increased stability, increased longevity, particle characterisation and fewer nuisance alarms.
To achieve this, a CMOS imager is combined with multiple photodiodes to provide accurate and direct imaging of the data. The high level of data that is collected is then analysed to derive actionable information about the particles that are present in the chamber.
Installation, Commissioning and Operation
VESDA-E VEP utilises a powerful aspirator that caters for a total pipe length of 560m (1,837 ft). An AutoConfig function allows airflow normalisation and AutoLearn Smoke and Flow to be initiated from the detector itself, making out-of-the-box operation possible.
VESDA-E VEP is fully supported by ASPIRE and Xtralis VSC software to assist with pipe-network design, system commissioning and maintenance.
A USB port is available for PC configuration and firmware upgrade via USB memory stick, and field replaceable sub-assemblies ensure faster servicing and maximum uptime.
VESDAnet™ provides a powerful bi-directional communication network. This allows for continued redundant operation, even during single point wiring failures. VESDAnet enables centralised configuration, control, primary reporting, maintenance and remote monitoring.
Ethernet and WiFi Connectivity
Ethernet and WiFi connectivity is available as standard. VESDA-E VEP devices can be connected to a corporate network allowing tablets and PCs to connect wirelessly to the detector via Xtralis monitoring configuration software.
VESDA-E VEP is fully compatible with existing VEDSA installations and occupies the same pipe, conduit, mounting footprint and electrical positioning as VESDA VLP. VEP is also compatible with existing VESDAnet installations, allowing bot VESDA-E and legacy detectors to be monitored via the latest iVESDA application.
The VESDA-E VEP is fully approved by VdS for safe use and installation in any European Union country and bears the CE mark to show that it complies with all the applicable Directives including the CPR, EMC and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).
