The DTSX1 Fiber Optic LHD Controller, offered by Eurofyre, is a linear heat detection system that utilises Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS). In this system, the fibre optic cable itself functions as the heat-sensing element, providing near-pinpoint temperature accuracy and precise location of heat over extensive distances. This controller integrates all necessary heat detection functions, along with relays and a display, into a single unit, allowing for straightforward configuration of alarm settings to deliver rapid early warnings of fire conditions.

The system is designed to connect up to four 16km fibre optic cables, providing an impressive total detection range of up to 64km. The DTSX1 excels at sensing heat across a broad temperature spectrum, from -25° to +70°C. It achieves this by employing an innovative light scattering principle, which enables the accurate recording and precise location of temperature differences along the entire length of the cable. Crucially, it can simultaneously identify multiple hotspot locations and activate alarms at various preset thresholds, thereby protecting important assets before rising temperatures escalate into a fire.

Furthermore, the DTSX1 fully complies with both UK safety standards and the European EN54-22 standard for linear fire detection systems, ensuring reliable and regulated performance. Its comprehensive technical specifications include measurement distances of up to 16km per channel, a spatial resolution of 1 metre or less, and a minimum temperature measurement time of just 5 seconds. The unit is designed for wall mounting and operates on a 10-30V DC power supply.
