Product Spotlight – Crisis Type B Refuge Outstation

Search

Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) systems are used to provide two-way communication between people inside a building and the emergency services. In the event of a fire or other emergency, those in need of help can use the EVC system, as a more reliable alternative to traditional radio systems, to get help with evacuation.

EVC systems are designed to assist disabled or mobility impared people, including those that are injured or pregnant. However, they can also be used to aid phased evacuation.

An EVC system typically consists of a master station, usually installed in a central and accessible location, and a series of outstations containing devices such as fire telephones, disabled refuge points and emergency assist alarms located at various points throughout the building:

Master Station
A master station is installed at the central location point and connects all the components of the system together.
Fire Telephones
Buildings that are over four stories are usually required to have at least one fire telephone installed on every floor. Fire telephones serve as a backup to traditional fire service radio systems by providing a hardwired, full-duplex communications system.
Disabled Refuge
A disabled refuge provides people that are disabled or wheelchair users with a relatively safe place to congregate while they call for help and wait for assistance. In the UK, disabled refuge systems are required in all non-domestic premises over one storey or where an emergency exit is by stairs.
Assist Call
Emergency assist call alarms must be provided in all disabled toilets within non-domestic premises to allow the user to call for help in the case of an emergency.

Crisis EVC

Crisis EVC is designed to combine fire telephones, disabled refuges, and emergency alarm systems into one fully integrated system. It is easy-to-install, maintain and operate and can cater for anything from small to very large applications.

All devices in the Crisis EVC range are compatible with each other allowing all calls relating to disabled communications to be displayed at a single point.

The Crisis EVC range includes all the components required to build a comprehensive Emergency Voice Communication system for any application including EVC Control Panels, Assist Call Alarms and EVC Outstations.
