Overview
The Velocity Addressable Optical Smoke Detector is a stylish and low-profile, analogue addressable smoke detector that uses a photoelectric detection element. It is designed for use with the Velocity MMP control panel to form part of an analogue addressable fire alarm system.
These smoke detectors have a unique detector address to give accurate detector location during the installation. This enables constant monitoring of the detector’s sensitivity and the condition of the detector to be reported to the fire alarm control panel.
Thanks to a sophisticated smoke chamber design and the use of an orange sensor LED, Velocity Addressable Optical Smoke Detectors can provide the same level of sensitivity regardless of the type of smoke.
Velocity Addressable Optical Smoke Detectors have a chemically etched, stainless steel insect screen to reduce the ingress of insects and airborne particles, thus prolonging the life of the detector and reducing nuisance alarms.
These detectors have two terminals for connection to a two-wire loop and a third terminal that provides a switched current sink function, suitable for the operation of auxiliary functions such as remote indicators, in an alarm event.

All components in the Velocity range are UL certified and comply with the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 864 Control Units and Accessories for Fire Alarm Systems 10th Edition.
