Overview
Emergency assistance alarm systems are used to create an alert when an individual requires physical assistance in locations such as public bathrooms and assisted living.
As dictated by BS5839, such assistance alarm systems require that an alarm can only be reset at the originating location of the call, a failsafe to ensure that any alert is fully investigated and prompt support given to the vulnerable person.
In addition to a primary cancel plate in the alarmed room, an ancillary cancel plate can also be installed and used to cancel the alarm, for instance, by the shower in an accessible bathroom.
Unlike the main Crisis Assist Cancel Plate, the ancillary plate does not feature visible alarm indication or have a buzzer, thus consuming less power.
The single gang ancillary cancel plate is available in two finishes, light grey acrylic or brushed stainless steel, and can be flush or surface mounted at a height of 800mm to 1000mm from the floor.
Typical Wiring Diagram
The Crisis Assist Ancillary Cancel Plate can be integrated with the Crisis EVC system or installed standalone via a Crisis Assist Controller.
For ease of installation, all wiring is standard two-core cable and the wiring order of plates is not fixed allowing them to be wired in any order, giving total flexibility in installation routes. A maximum 500m distance can be achieved from a controller or panel.
Generally, two Ancillary Cancel Plates can be added to a standard dedicated Assist Call circuit.
