Overview
6mm Sensepoint XCL In-Line Gas Detectors provide aspirated gas detection for use with microbore aspirating smoke detection systems. When used in conjunction with VESDA-E detectors, these inline gas detectors provide a fast and reliable warning of harmful gases that are present in the detection area.
Sensepoint in-line gas detectors are easy to install, commission and operate via an embedded Bluetooth interface that can be paired with any smart device – this allows for faster detector configuration as well as simplified operation and servicing.
These in-line gas detectors are suitable for an expansive range of applications including:
- Residential
- Commercial premises
- Hospitals
- Hotels
- Car parks (underground / enclosed)
- Laboratories
- High tech manufacturing
- Universities and schools
- Chemical / Pharmaceutical
- Indoor air quality monitoring
- Battery rooms
- Fuel storage areas
- Confined spaces
- Food & beverage
- Refrigerated systems (leak detection)
- Greenhouses
Available Sensors
There is a variety of sensor types available for 6mm Sensepoint XCL In-Line Gas Detectors including:
- Carbon Monoxide (CO): 300ppm (adjustable 50 – 1000ppm)
- Combustible (CAT): 0 – 100% LEL (Methane, Hydrogen, Propane, Ethanol, Butane, Octane, etc.)
- Hydrogen (H2): 1000ppm
- Carbon Dioxide (CO2): 5.0% v/v (adjustable 1.0 – 5.0% v/v)
- Carbon Dioxide (CO2): 5000ppm (adjustable 1000 – 5000ppm)
How it works
VESDA 6mm Sensepoint XCL In-Line gas detectors can be added to any new or existing VESDA-E VEA installation to actively monitor the sampled air for the presence of harmful gasses. These sophisticated in-line gas detectors also integrate with other building systems such as fire alarm control panels, PLCs, HVAC and building management systems to provide real-time situational awareness for intelligent emergency response.
Sensepoint XCL detectors can detect the presence of gas in pipe lengths of up to 100m (328ft). This provides significant installation and routine maintenance cost savings with easy access to the detector unit for servicing and diagnostic information. Sensor cartridges are replaceable and can be done in the field.
Flexible Output Options
VESDA Sensepoint XCL is available with either a 4-20 mA analog output or Modbus RTU – both of which are equipped with relays. The result is a flexible solution that can be easily incorporated into legacy systems as well as new installations.
Approvals
VESDA Sensepoint XCL Gas Detectors are approved to the following standards:

- CSA-C22.2 No. 61010- 1-12
- EN 50270
- RED, FCC, BT SIG
- UL2075 (CO and CH4 ), AS 1668.2
