Wi-Fyre Xenos Wireless Fire Detection

Search

Wi-Fyre Xenos wireless fire detection is extremely easy to install and provides a cost-effective solution when compared to traditional hardwired fire detection systems.

Xenos removes the need for complex cable networks, and all of the challenges that come with them, greatly reducing installation time. This means that large fire detection systems can be installed in a matter of days rather than weeks or months.

The Xenos system survey defines the exact wireless infrastructure required for the system to operate efficiently allowing proper planning and guaranteeing fixed equipment costs.

Devices on Wi-Fyre Xenos wireless fire detection can be quickly pre-programmed off-site to further reduce installation time and reduce the number of engineers required for the installation; this further optimises costs and helps to meet deadlines.

Wi-Fyre Xenos wireless fire detection systems are fully certified to the relevant EN54 standards and offer the highest performing range of fire sensing and notification.

Overview

Wi-Fyre Xenos uses translator modules to communicate with wireless devices. Translator modules create the unique wireless infrastructure and manage protocol communications with the fire alarm control panel. Up to 128 devices can be attached to each translator to create an entire fire detection system. Sophisticated technology enables the user to lock the Translator Module with a password to prevent unauthorised access.

Xenos Expander modules can be used to scale the wireless network. Each expander can extend the range of the network by up to 1km and increase the stability and continuity of the system.

Wireless Architecture

Xenos provides two methods of wireless architecture, making the system incredibly flexible and suitable for most applications.

Mesh Architecture

A mesh wireless system uses a translator module and up to 15 expanders to create the wireless network and ensure the best possible redundant network communication paths (identified during system commissioning). If any expander in the chain fails, the transmission path automatically finds an alternative route to ensure communication continuity.

In this scenario, the translator module is powered by the main control panel and the expander modules are powered by a 24V PSU.

Hybrid Architecture

When a hybrid system is used, translator modules are installed into the fire alarms loop via a compatible interface. The wireless fire alarm devices communicate with the translator, which relays the information back to the fire alarm control panel.

Wireless Range

The point to point transmission range for Xenos is over 1km in open air and our antenna technology is tuned for performance across frequencies and environments. Combined with up to 8 expansion hops a Wi-Fyre Xenos system can cover well over 8km.

Scalable Wireless Technology

Xenos uses intelligent signal processing and 60 communications channels to ensure that the network doesn’t suffer any channel collision. The communications channels are effectively divided by infrastructure and field channels, so the system architecture can easily be expanded from a single loop to multiple systems on the same site without any mutual influence.

Wireless Network Reliability

Mesh Expander Technology is used to deliver unprecedented system reliability and performance. If any expander in the chain fails, the transmission path finds an alternate route, ensuring communication continuity.

Redundant Channel Technology

Every device in the Xenos range features dual redundant channel technology to ensure superior system reliability. If one channel is blocked, the other automatically takes over so that every message is correctly delivered when and where required. Xenos wireless translators and expanders are all backup powered and watchdog restart protected, further enforcing the system’s reliability.

Optimised Path Technology

Xenos translators and expanders have been optimised to deliver the right balance of range and confidence. Point to point transmission range is over 1km in open air and Xenos antenna technology is tuned for performance across frequencies and environments. With up to 8 expansion hops a Xenos wireless fire detection system can cover well over 8km.

Low Power Consumption

Xenos delivers maximum performance with minimum environmental impact. Robust electrical design means Xenos’ battery management is among the best available, with 10 year battery life for sensors, call points and inputs and up to 5 years for outputs, sounders and VADs.

Xenos uses standard CR123A lithium batteries, available off the shelf worldwide.

Simple and Intuitive Engineering Software

The Xenos software provides an intuitive and simple method of configuring the Xenos system. The app’s user-friendly interface simplifies configuration, reduces installation time and provides a clear system overview for easy maintenance, via a set of advanced functions.

Xenos products all have QR codes that can be scanned into the configuration tool’s virtual warehouse for quick and accurate setup. Once the design is complete, the configuration tool auto learns all of your devices onto the system.

Real system drawings in the programming tool allow the user to drag and drop devices from the virtual warehouse, straight onto floor plans. Easy setup and linkage of the device, and associated signal quality display, ensure that the designs are accurate and that the system is fully functional in real time.

The software’s live display gives access to a visual display of the system status for easy control in real time. An effective reporting feature also provides complete information about system status, post commissioning, and compliance.

Wireless Surveying

The Xenos survey tool is driven by a free Android app that is available from the Google Play Store. The app makes surveys simple and accurate and provides detailed reports to help with compliance and design. The app also allows users to manage your entire portfolio of sites and surveys.

Compatible Control Panels

Xenos is supported by Haes Esprit and Advanced MxPro 5 addressable control panels, available in one, two and four loop variants. The control panel range allows for full flexibility when designing small, medium and large wireless fire alarm systems.

Supported by Nimbus Fire Alarm Management
