Overview

Messenger wire is used to install linear heat detection cable in areas which may be difficult to access, have large spans to cover or where fixing the cable at the normal recommended spacing (up to 1.5m/5ft intervals) would be too difficult or time consuming.

FyreLine Digital is suitable for most environments. FyreLine Digital Linear Heat Sensing Cable has a PVC outer coating as standard and is suitable for a variety of applications. It is used to detect excess heat at any point along its length. Once the cable’s rated temperature is reached, a signal is sent to the fire alarm control panel.

FyreLine Messenger Wire is available as an optional addition to FyreLine Digital Linear Heat Detection Cables to ensure the cable is supported correctly.

Cable Construction

FyreLine Digital Linear Heat Detection Cable is made up of two twisted cores that are separated by an advanced temperature sensitive polymer. When the polymer reaches its rated temperature it softens and allows the cores to come into contact, this event alerts the fire alarm panel to take appropriate action. This is an irreversible process and once the cable has activated, the section which has triggered must be cut out and replaced.

FyreLine Digital Linear Heat Detection Cable with Messenger Wire comes with the messenger wire already spiralled around the cable to make the detector cable self-supporting.

Approvals

FyreLine digital linear heat detection cables are fully approved by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and bear the CE mark to show that they comply with all the applicable Directives including the CPR, EMC and the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

UL 521 – Heat detectors for fire protective signalling systems.
